Mark Fitzgerald

Mark Fitzgerald is the author of By Way of Dust and Rain, a collection of poetry.

He grew up in southeastern Pennsylvania and received his Bachelor’s of Arts in English from Franklin and Marshall College and his Master’s of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from George Mason University—graduating with Phi Beta Delta honors. He has studied in Strasbourg, France and was awarded a fellowship to pursue his writing at Oxford.

His work has appeared in many periodicals, including the Crab Creek Review, Squaw Review, Temenos, Poetry Midwest and Parting Gifts. Mark has also written for the National Geographic Society, Governing Magazine, Outdoor America, Print Solutions Magazine, ASCE News, Air Transport World, Interval World International, Military Advanced Education, Coast Guard Forum and other publications.

He is currently a staff editor and teaches writing at the University of Maryland.

Mark lives in Falls Church, Virginia with his wife, Paige, and son, Blake.
